A little about ian g richardson

Born and raised in Bluffton, Indiana, I have lived across this region my entire life. From making friends in Decatur and Markle to working in Fort Wayne and New Haven, I’ve gotten to know the people who make Northeast Indiana what it is. Today, I’m back in Bluffton, building a life in the city that started it all.

Twenty-Five Years on the Front Lines

I’ve spent over 25 years in the service industry—twenty of those in food service alone. I know the physical toll of working until you can’t stand anymore because you had to. I’ve worked as a Pharmacy Technician for CVS, where I’ve seen the "hurts" of our system firsthand.

I am a father to a fourteen-year-old. Like many of you, I know the weight of bills that wait for no one. I’ve watched Indiana get more expensive while our legislature offers little more than silence.

Why I’m Running

I’ve been behind that pharmacy counter and watched neighbors openly weep because they couldn't afford the medication they need to stay alive. I’ve stepped in to help others when they couldn’t help themselves, and I’ve been humble enough to ask for help when I needed it too. I’ve navigated the maze of insurance companies and a medical system that often feels like it's designed to treat people as numbers, not neighbors.

No one guaranteed any of us an easy life. I get that. But it shouldn't be this hard just to raise a family and keep your head above water.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m tired of treading water. I’m offering you a life preserver.
